Training Centres





The Local Authority Services National Training Group, through its Roads, Water, Environment and Fire Services Training Groups, coordinates the development and delivery of training to the best international standards for all staff involved in the provision of services within these four sectors.
Roscrea Regional Training Centre was officially opened in 1999 following the establishment of the Water Services National Training Group. The Centre caters for the Water Services, Roads, Environment and Fire Services training needs of Local Authority personnel in Tipperary, Offaly, Laois, Clare, Limerick, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow and Wexford County/City Councils as well as delivering training programmes to the private sector.
Ballycoolin Regional Training Centre was officially opened in 2005 in Dublin 15 following the establishment of the Water Services National Training Group. The Centre caters for the Water Services, Roads, Environment and Fire Services training needs of Local Authority personnel in Dublin City Council, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Fingal County Council, Kildare County Council, Louth County Council, Meath County Council, South Dublin County Council, Westmeath County Council and Wicklow County Council as well as delivering training programmes to the private sector.
Castlebar Regional Training Centre was officially opened in 2002 following the establishment of the Water Services National Training Group. The Centre is one of the five centres set up to provide training as set out in the National Training Programme for the Water Services Sector.
Ballincollig Regional Training Centre was officially opened in Innishmore, Ballincollig in 1996 following the establishment of the Water Services National Training Group. The Centre was the first of five centres built nationwide to provide training as set out in the National Training Programme for the Sanitary Services Sector.
The Stranorlar Regional Training Centre is a purpose built dedicated Training Centre. It was established in 2002 to serve the training needs of a broad range of outdoor Local Authority personnel, with many courses servicing Water, Roads, Environment areas. This now extends to training for the Fire Service staff.
